Why we see things?
Questions I have been wondering about-
How do we perceive things differently around us?
Why is something more visible to someone than someone else?
Why is something more important to a person than it is to someone else?
- Is there a defined way of ‘seeing things’?
- Or are all perceptions valid and accurate for all situations?
Not always! So, how does one know in which direction to think?
Are there any defined tactics or ‘practices of looking/perceiving things’ that can help one ‘see’ and ‘perceive’ things in a better and more appropriate manner?
I want to test & understand how and why people’s perceptions regarding issues scaling from small day to day activities to global issues vary?
Is there any defined ‘correct’ or ‘wrong’ of perceiving things?
What makes people think that what they believe is right?
Are there any ways for accessing the thoughts that form the foundation of our opinions?
How often do people take a step back and re-think about the factors that made them take a certain decision?
For example, people have such different perception towards their responsibility for global issue such as Climate Change.
I decided to take a step back and focus on the above posed thoughts and questions which I want to understand and test through a series of experiments.

Random thoughts
Do we see everything?
What we see
How are ways of seeing changing?
How does it differ from person to person?
Would people from the same profession/community/culture have the same way of looking at something?
Timeline
All experiments would be done with people, seeking their view of ‘What they see’ & perceive to understand what drives our thoughts and why?
1st experiment: POSTER/Survey
2nd experiment: VR
3rd experiment: AR
Step 1: Poster on Climate Change on D12 (1 Apr- 3Apr'19)
The goal of putting up this poster whic in a way gives very little hint at what it exactlt represnta but also at the same time talks about all issues and effects of climate change.
My goal is to understand what people see, giving very little hints of the actual topic of interest. To understand how they perceive things and what is their take on this global issue.
Analysis & Feedback
Reflection on Feedback:
Step 2: Analyze response/feedback from prototype I & move to prototype II
